Nestled in a luscious garden in Lagonisi, the modern, private property became a perfect canvas for our landscape architecture team to create the big day scheme, starting with the couple’s ceremony staged before the domestic chapel corseted by modern side yard concrete paver ponds. To ensure every guest had the best view we divided the seating into two sections, one on the front patio and one on the side. Contrary to the rest of the event, the ceremony was kept minimal in all-white oval Chiavari while dressing the chapel’s facade in a cascading floral installation and adding life-size swan sculptures with larger-than-life blossoming roses plumage.

Art deco floral design is exceptionally beautiful, reflecting the liveliness and decadence of that period of time. As Zoe and George’s wedding vision was to nod to the twenties we’d be remiss not to include overflowing arrangements with full, luxurious, cascading bouquets and garlands, as well as rich tones matched with pastels, luxurious creams, and golds. The entire amphitheatric yard was dressed in histrionic flowers across the pavements, tall neutral and colorful grasses with towering poppies jutting naturally out of the shrubs.

As part of the reception decor, we custom-created a massive art-deco wrought iron installation with an actual waterfall running in the middle, framed by sensuous cascading foliage and colorful buds accented by lavish chandeliers and Alegra Ross velvet stools to serve as a photobooth. An opulent mirror table dessert display in punchy corals, floral-inspired pastries, and blush confections was placed nearby to ensure every guest’s taste was gratified. No luxury wedding reception is complete without a unique space for guests to mix, mingle and chat away, so we laid out a comfy couch and unique velvet seating area sprucing up the scene with round tables, votive candles, and low but lush flower arrangements.

Tradition calls for the bridal table to stand out and we really wanted Zoe & George’s to make a statement. To make this happen we designed a novelty plexiglass deck for our bride and groom in the midst of their pool, facing all the other reception tables. Placing two adjacent mirror tables under a tree trunk floral installation, laced with greenery, pampas, colorful blooms, and glass bubbles, and choosing gold rim Dior style padded seating in candy hues of varying intensity, we brought attention to smaller details. The great thing about this pastel scheme was that it worked so well in creating the multidimensional pretty our couple sought after.

For the guests’ reception dinner, Zoe & George opted for ghost seating in white mirror-topped tables, placing modern, tall, gold-metal stands with floral arrangements in the center, and lower blossoming herbarium centerpieces at each end, thus creating a stunning islet effect. We wanted the table arrangements to be abundant and fragrant going for the impact that would also make for a special experience for guests on every level. Opalescent dinnerware and gold-rimmed bell-shaped drinkware combed perfectly with crystal votive candles and gold flatware for an airy but lavish flair. With the last light of day, fairy light curtains, sparkling chandeliers, and candles lit inside our stained glass polygon candle holders brought the magic on, transforming the scene from elegant to utterly spellbinding.

To top it all, George planned a surprise for his bride. Akis Petretzikis, Zoe’s beloved celebrity chef entered the scene to deliver the couple’s signature wedding cake, making for one more epic moment for our bride to cherish. As Arthur Miller once put it, glamour is the trans-human aura that rearranges people’s emotions, and this glamorous Athens wedding resonates so well.
