Our beautiful sweethearts are not just your destination wedding couple next door. Right in the heart of Paros island, their wedding venue also happens to be their home and their life’s work. Think of a 24-acre stretch of terraced land that has been burgeoning, spreading, and bursting forth with vines, barley, capers, oregano, lavender, figs, grapes, and olives since 1989; all ripe with aromas and corsetted by oleander gardens a perfect touch of white, their homestead is a dwelling where people, animals, and gifts of land, and life, harmoniously welcome the seasons away from excesses and the palaver of faddishness. Claire and Alkis themselves are people of culture, candor, and openness. Their sincerity, completeness, and family bond had us so in love that we can safely say their wedding is one of our all-time favorites.
We drew inspiration from the colors around the farmstead, deep greens, stark whites, marigold yellows, and sundown peachy palettes both for their ceremony and their reception, which was no other than a finely knit gathering for people who are deeply connected to enjoy. Sweet as summer’s honeyed breath, the long and languid family-style dinner was set under the shed. Lush but clean overhead arrangements featured plush greenery and Edison bulbs. For the wedding reception centerpieces, and the bridal bouquet, we sought out a design that featured wild herbs and flowers foraged from PetraParos, as well as fragrant blossoms to evoke joy; all studied to keep the gorgeous home in the background. And who better than our couple’s four-legged furry flower girls and ring bearers to make sure everyone is included in the fete? It’s always a “paws up!” on our side!
